Kathy Donnelly
Critical Care, G-Blue

Kathy joined the UH family in 1985, a year after graduating with a BSN from Rutgers University. She rose in the ranks from a staff nurse to Assistant Nurse Manager in the Neurosurgical ICU and then became the nurse manager of both the ICU and G-Blue in 1998. In response to the expanded needs of the G-Blue unit, Kathy began concentrating her efforts solely on the management of that unit in early 2004.

"Because of the nature of my unit – mostly neurological -- we deal with highly complex cases. I like being able to help the families as well as the patients learn to cope with the challenges they face. I'm also intrigued by the cultural and religious diversity we see here and how they deal with illness."
