Maggie Arriaga, RN
Nurse Manager, Post-Anesthesia Recovery (PAR)

A 1984 graduate of Essex County College, Maggie came to University Hospital in 1988 as a staff nurse in PAR. She worked there until 2002 when she was promoted to the unit's assistant nurse manager and is now currently serving as Nurse Manager.

"This is a wonderful place to learn. As a Hispanic nurse, I think it’s a great place to work because it is so culturally diverse. And the day-to-day responsibilities are diverse, too. In PAR you get to work with nearly every department in the hospital – it’s not just trauma and not just orthopaedics – there is so much going on here and you get to be a part of it all. The challenges are great, but the rewards are even greater."
